PAMS 2019PERFORMING ARTS MARKET IN SEOUL 2019 Under the support of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Arts Management Service has been hosting PAMS(Performing Arts Market in Seoul) every October. The primary objects of PAMS are revitalization of rational distribution and exportation to oversea markets for Korean performing arts that based on diversified orientation and creation. Through the diverse programs of PAMS as showcases of selected Korean performing arts, Booth Exhibition for the promotion of art works and artistic groups, varied forum and networking programs, all the performing arts experts are able to share the information of field and global trends for encouragement of creation and provision of performing arts. Not only complacent as distributive channel of polished art works, also PAMS desires to expand boundary of creation and distribution by offering inspiration for cooperation through intensive communication. PAMS 2019 suggests a solid vision as the representative contemporary performing art markets of Asia. On this occasion, performing artists share their expertise, experiences and their innovative idea for original inspiration. By doing so, PAMS is ambitious to be a venue of networking for market extension and audience development.

PAMS ChoicePAMS Choice, Our Representative Program! PAMS Choice introduces outstanding works of performing art by Korean artists, highlighting contemporary trends and celebrating artistic virtuosity. Selected annually in an open competition by a review panel that includes international experts, PAMS Choice finalists win the chance to be featured for the duration of PAMS and be promoted at various international performing arts events. Especially, this year's PAMS Choice will present some of its works as full-length showcases to become more focused and to respect the presentation style. They also receive wide-ranging support to take their productions to international stages provided in partnership with ARKO to cover international airfare as well as cargo transport costs and training and consulting in strategy development for foreign market entry. From 2005 to 2018, a total of 215 works earned the PAMS Choice designation, receiving strategic support for advancement overseas and going on to great success in Asia, Oceania, the Americas and Europe.

PAMS Link X KAMSPAMS Link X KAMS Journey to Korean Music 2019 Journey to Korean Music is a platform that introduces the music and culture of Korea to world music experts from around the globe and provides support for traditional Korean bands seeking to take their music abroad. Through Journey to Korean Music, overseas experts can gain an understanding of both Korean culture and music while Korean bands can access oppotunities for promotion and take steps to advance into the international market. Over 140 international world music experts, including directors and journalists, have visited Korea to take part in this program over the years. Journey to Korean Music offers a rich experience of Korean music in all of its diversity, from traditional Korean arts in their original forms to Korean music reshaped using modern language. KAMS Connection KAMS Connection is a supportive programme to promote international communications and collaborations among professionals in performing arts field. KAMS and partner organisations run a research exchange programme together; KAMS offers performing arts professionals with the opportunities of research exchange by which they can gain knowledge and build networks, while the partners do vice versa. KAMS supports the former participants who have developed collaborative projects as well, aiming to strengthen the ecosystem where international co-workings are encouraged. Seoul Performing Arts Festival(SPAF) 2019 This year’s SPAF presents 19 performances by companies from ten countries: international performances invited from seven countries (Germany, Denmark, Russia, Belgium, Israel, France and Filand), ten Korean performances selected through an open call, collaboration programs run with the Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS), Asia Culture Center/Asia Culture Institute, Korea National University of Arts, One Dance Culture Center in Bulgaria, and a variety of side events.
