In 2014, a dance company was founded to focus on Korea’s new contemporary dance that could serve as a bridge between traditiona and modernity. Across the wide world of traditional Korean dance, contemporary dance and ballet, dancers formed this new company and named it “Ninety9,” meaning that their one percent inspiration will be completed by their ninety-nine percent perspiration.
Hye-rim JANG, a choreographer and dancer,has earnestly progressed step-by-step on her journey of life, using dance as a compass.
She conveys truly Korean emotions that her contemporaries can feel in her choreography, based on those Korean emotions and movements.
